Internet problem
Ok before I reformatted ( couple days ago ) any website would work, Now that I reformatted, Yahoo, Ebay and other site's just will not load. The security settings havent been touched, nor were they before. It's starting to piss me off, I can't check my email. Any ideas?

Check your DNS settings, clear your cache and check for any software that would block them - even high security on cookies could do it.

You've reformatted. All your network settings were erased during the reinstallation. Are you using dialup, DSL, or cable? Do you have a router? Are your TCP/IP settings correct? IP, primary and secondary DNS entries? Gateway IP? Is your PC always set to DHCP? Tried restarting your external modem or router if you have one? What OS are you using?
Just some suggestions to get you started.

I'm using DSL, And yes I have a router. I didnt set up anything because my router worked the second i reformatted. And I'm using XP.

Was XP hardcoded before you formatted or using DHCP? Did you manually enter the IP and DNS entries before? Are you unable to go to any websites or just those certain websites (eBay, Yahoo!, etc.)?

I reformatted again, Everything work's, I'm not using my router now. It's coming straight from the DSL modem and their software. I'll try the router

well I reinstalled my router and it does it again, I don't know what the hell it's problem is but it only does it when the router is hooked up..

Probably a router problem. What brand router do you have? Do you have logging enabled on the router? Have you tried downloading the latest firmware for the router and flashing the ROM to see if it fixes the issue?

its a Network Everywhere 4 port DSL/Cable router.
I'll check and see if I need to update the drivers.

Give that a shot. Sometimes the router firmware can get flaky. Overwriting the existing firmware with an updated version will fix any firmware kinks and possbily improve the router's operation overall.
