Lightbulb 4 spd AOD kick down linkage

Howdy, I am currently working on my old Ford truck. 1941 ton and a half. I have a 4 spd. AOD I am bolting up behind a 302 with a Rochester 720 Quadrajunk. The kick down linkage was made for a Holley but it is toast. So, I am wondering if there might be a pre-made kickdown linkage for a Rochester insted of me having to fabricate a replacement? The old linkage has a circlip on the tranny end and is adjustable at the carb end. Any idea's or info out there?

Just a warning !!!! the "kick-down" linkage IS a "throttle valve" linkage,,,
no matter what you do,,,this HAS to be hooked up and adjusted,,,,,,
IF you don't,,,,,this thing will shift like CRAP,,, and you'll probably burn
the tranny up !!!!!!!!!good luck

Re: 4 spd AOD kick down linkage

a 4 speed AOD trans, maybe 3 spd, anyhow, why are you using a quadrajunk anyhow? I would just rebuild the holley and go from there, by the time you get your kickdown figured out, it would be cheaper to rebuild that holley.

4 spd AOD

Howdy, I am hooked on the old 720 Rochesters. I prefer them over Holley's because they seem to run better, longer and stronger for me. I live in the high deserts in Arizona and besides the heat, dust is a big factor in engine performance. And I have ALWAYS had a good WORKING relationship with the old Quadrajets.

Holleys are too much like a city girl. They are high maintenance, very picky about what they eat and are always complaining about the heat. They look good and sound good when all is right in their world. But introduce heat, dust and cheap fuel and they get moody. Rochesters are an equal opportunity carb. They will fit on anything, eat anything, and not bitch about it. And besides you can do a lot with a Rochester carb.

I like to tinker with them, modify them a bit here and there. Besides, they have been around for a long long time. And that speaks for itself. So back to the original question. Is there an existing linkage for a 4 spd AOD with a 720 Rochester or do I have to fabricate one from a mid 80's Broncho 2?
