Little Brother & Me Revell Datsun 240Z's In progress

Well, Walmart had a bunch of these Z's, so both my brother Ian and I bought one to build as sort of an interfamily feud. Naturally, lots of kitbashing and modifying ensued. So far, here's what we've got.

Ian's. (kitbashed "Stinger" hoodscoop from a Revell 1967 Corvette roadster, scratchbuilt airdam, Fujimi BBS RG wheels)

Mine. (kit bashed BRE "Spook" front spoiler and BRE rear spoiler, shaving emblems, Fujimi Volk 3spokes)

Ian's (Chevy 358ci SB2 engine from Revell NASCAR Monte Carlo kit with Holley Dominator carb from Revell Pro Stock kit)

Mine. (L28 Turbo out of AMT/Ertl's 280ZX Turbo kit with turbo air intake pirated from Revell Integra)

Ian's - he's got his chassis done (side exit exhaust and headers modified from NASCAR kit)

Mine - I've finished my interior (seats taken from Hasegawa rally LanEvo, grey Detail Master flocking)

So, what do you think? Pretty cool for two takes on the same kit right?

Yeah, that's really cool. They both look great so far. I hope you both keep going with them and show us the results. Good luck.

I think I just found where I'll be sourcing my 350 Chev engine from they're both so awesome, now I wanna put a turbocharged V8 into one.

Pretty cool dual (or duel, perhaps?) build!!

When they're painted, will they look like brothers, or more like distant cousins?

Sweet! I love Zs.
I like how those headers hang low, and the exhaust routing is trick.
Will you be running an intercooler for the L28, and is there enough the room?
Tell your brother that his V8 will completely annihillate your L28

There's probably enough room for an intercooler, so I'll probably run one, although I think it'd look kind of out of place with the kit grille.

I've honestly also been considering scrapping the AMT kit injection system and scratchbashing something with a bit more detail, but it's all in good fun.

As far as paint jobs for the cars. Ian wants to go with True Blue Pearl or something similar. I haven't decided myself, but am thinking two tone Bronze and Grape Pearl.
