Creaking in front end when turning?
My car makes a creaking noise in the front end when I am going slow and turning. This also happens when I am turning into a driveway with a little curb. I have taken it to the dealership, but they can not recreate the noise. Is this something that comes with the car and I have to live with it or might there be an actual problem? Does anyone have any ideas?
Thanks to all |

Re: Creaking in front end when turning?
If you drive slowly in a tight full turn and hear a "clicking" noise coming from the front wheels, then the CV joints are bad.

I have the same annoying creaking sound when i turn too. It sounds like a squeaking door, but no one can figure out how to stop it. It doesn't seem to be the tires. It sounds like it is in the steering. Any ideas?

I had this issue and it turned out to be a torn lower ball joint boot. I got mine replace for nothing at the dealer because the lower control arm/ball joint(one assembly) was recalled previously.
Even if the recall has been done, as long as that is your problem than they may do it again, in fact they are supposed to. It all depends on the dealer you bring it to as to the outcome. If one turns you down, try another. It certainly can't hurt. Just the cost of the control arm/ball joint is $200. BTW, when they did mine(left side), they even replaced the end link on that side, which is another $50 part that I was planning on replacing if they didn't. I replaced the other side the same week. Good luck. |
