98 honda civic ex

I am a newbie to these forums and to foriegn car ownership. I have a 1998 honda civic ex, early style 1.6l. what is the best preformance enhancing enhancement I can put on it? I am considering a K&N CAI, but where do I go after the CAI?

Thanks PluimJ

I'm assuming you don't wanna spend big bucks on it yet. So all-motor basic bolt-ons are probably the best choice.

The general trend for the first couple of mods are Intake, Header, and Exhaust.

Re: 98 honda civic ex

D16 isnt it? well save the pennies and get a B18 or H22 and type R tranny...trust me you will love Type R shifting over your stock tranny...B18 swaps are as easy as changin ECU's and motor mounts...no fabricatinon required...if a motor swap is too drastic I/H/E, intake manifold, big bore throttle body, mass air flow sensor, forced induction... then if you want to keep the D block.... ECU upgrades, swaping out internals, tranny upgrade
