where to buy an engine online?

I haven't been online in a few months, and I forgot a website that had used engines, guaranteed under 30,000 miles for like 500 dollars. It is for an 88 honda civic dx. Any help would be appreciated. My car is dying! lol

Re: where to buy an engine online?

I looked there, and the cheapest I'm seeing is like 1200 dollars. Am I looking in the wrong spot? I don't want nothing fancy, just a car i use to get around, believe me it's not to pretty, hehe. Thanks

Re: where to buy an engine online?

they have d's for like...500 if not less. Go to motor mall. And scroll to the bottom and click on "show me more" or whatever it says. They have a bunch of sohc going for real cheap.

Either that or go to a junkyard.

Re: where to buy an engine online?

found it, thanks. Anything you would recommend? sohc, or dohc? I am kinda clueless. I know a little, but not a lot. I just don't want to spend a whole lot. Do you know how much shipping is on these motors? Thanks yet again.

so your really not looking for performance? Just something in good condition that will get you around? If thats the case, id say stay sohc like d16a6, d16z6, d16y8 (unless you get the dohc zc which is fast and cheap and bolts right in.) If you get any other dohc motor, you will need to get new mounts which are $300 plus, and there will be more wiring, etc.

Re: where to buy an engine online?

i think he just needs a factory replacement. try the sohc zc from hmotorsonline or ebay motors. they can be had for around $500 shipped to your door

alright, cool. I'll stick with a sohc. So shipping will be around $100?

Re: where to buy an engine online?

http://www.risingsunengines.com Heard lots of good things from them. They hot run their engines unlike a lot of companies that just leakdown & compression test.

Re: where to buy an engine online?

for 500 bucks you should just throw a DOHC ZC in there.
