85 ranger

My grandpa has an 85ranger. He has the engine out being rebuilt in his garage. He said he'd give me the engine, I dont know what it is though 4 cyl, 6cyl,he has a body but its crap. Is the motor any good in these trucks. thanx

how do you possibly not know if it is a 6cyl. or a 4?????? and whether the engine is good or not depends on if your grandpa knows what hes doing and im sure he does.
