Can I make my Grand Prix SE dual exhaust??
I have a 2001 Grand Prix SE which I would like to make dual exhaust. Do I have to have it custom made or can I basically do it myself if I get the parts? I hope someone can help.

Re: Can I make my Grand Prix SE dual exhaust??
if you look at the stock exhaust on an SE and a gt/gtp it basically the same exhuast. Only difference is there a Y welded before the muffs. I bet there is a muff hanger on the drivers side to put a muffler.

Re: Can I make my Grand Prix SE dual exhaust??
I've seen conversion kits to give the SE a "dual" exhaust. It's not true "dual" exhaust, but it gives two tailpipes - which is about all you can hope for. Can't remember which site, but it was a performance part's catalog that had pontiac specific stuff, for both the 3800 series II and the SFI 191 3100 engines

If anyone knows of any websites, or places that I can get the needed supplies to make this car a dual exhaust, please email me at [email protected]. I really appreciate all the help.

Just go to an exhaust shop and they can make everything you need to have dual mufflers. Here is a pic of what the GT/GTPs exhaust looks like....~Larry~

Thanks for the info on making my SE dual exhaust. I have gone to 3800performance.com and zzperformance.com and I see a lot of exhausts for the GT/GTP but none for the SE. Will any after market exhaust work, even if it says for the GT/GTP only? How much do you think I will be spending? Which exhaust will give my car a nice loud, deep rumble?

If you want it loud, then flowmasters are the way to go.They are to loud for me.Ive got the Danomax ultra flows and they have a nice deep rumble to them and they dont have an over powering noise level....your best bet is to find an exhaust shop that has been around for awhile and not a chain shop like Mineke or others...just a good old Mom & Pop shop. They can cut the stock pipe and make a y-pipe then add the pipes to the new mufflers and shouldnt cost over 250.00 including mufflers. Most cat-back systems for the GT/GTP would work on your car except you would need a few of the rubber hangers for the new part that is added (extra muffler & pipe)

If anyone knows where I can get a Borla catback exhaust for a good price let me know. If you know of a site or place I can get good prices (even if it's not a borla) please let me know. Thanks
