Wednesday Night Drags
so last wednesday i went to the amature drag races at Infineon Raceway (you know, the Nascar track is there). As most of you know I have a Moser rear end... anyway, I don't know what happened but I think I twisted my stock driveshaft. Afterward it was squeeking really loud. It didn't crack but something got fucked up on it. I never heard of this happening. My mechanic told me all he could think of is that the rear end was to strong for the stock driveshaft... I don't really understand how that would cause the problem. I also have the shifting firmness set to 3, if that has anything to do with it. Has anyone ever heard of this happening?? anyway, I already got my new aluminum one from Summit and a driveshaft loop from RK Sport... its all back to normal now.
if anyone is curious... I last told you guys I ran a 12.9 on the 1/4 I spraypainted on the street. I judged that from the MPH, but it must be off by about 5mph. At the track I ran very consistent 13.6s... I am still pretty happy with that .... anyway blah blah blah

Re: Wednesday Night Drags
It's the old weakest link theory the driveshaft absorbed most of the impact of the take off because it was the weak link in the power to ground not too common but I have heard of twisted driveshafts most of the time people change them its because they are going with a lighter one but I'm surprised you didn't break a U-joint first. Just out of curiosity where you running drag radials or slicks?

Re: Wednesday Night Drags
It must of had some prior damage then. You must run over something that dented it or something flew up and wacked it good because you can't bust a driveshaft from a take off with street tire the friction would break the tires loose before the driveshaft would absorb it. Unless it was really badly out of alignment
