Boss ???
I've a question about the Lightning. I have the engine from a kit I bought a while back, just so i could built it as a slammer. I've assembled the superstallion mustang super charger kit atop it, and I'm gong to drop it in a late model mustang for a BOSS retro makeover, or I might put it in my super stallion. Thing is I think the new Lightning has a 5.4L Triton v8, but what engine does the older one have? This is the one with the GT40 heads I believe.

Hmm. 87 views and not a reply. Well, I did search. I looked through Google, Yahoo, and MSN. But everything that I searched for under ford lightning came up as the new truck.

I think they had 351s 5.8 liter.

Yea i just bought a AMT 93 ford truck and it has a "custom" version you can build but it is exactly like a first gen lightning if you use the "stock" engine. Has the front bumper, rear bumpers, already sits pretty low and has the original style SVT rims. I guess they couldn't get the rights from SVT to build the lightning (older lightning anyway) so they made it the "custom" version. That is the one i'm building right now. It does has a 5.8L 351W

Thanks guys. I have an AMT issue of the Lightning, well, had. The truck was built as a slammer, and I knew I'd need the engine one day. So, thanks for the help, I really appreciate it. BTW, next week I should, not saying I will, have up a mustang with this engine.

That's cool, my GF is building a 67 fastback with a 99 cobra engine so i'm using the rest of the 99 kit with the super stallion engine. Replacing the Stailions Engine with a blown 427 and also working on the lightning mentioned above. Also i have a couple turbos from a giant firebird kit (1/12 maybe?) that i'm going to put one on a tamiya supra kit for a single turbo setup.
Lots of kits and too much homework to spend any time on them. William

I have a newer kit that is just a 93 truck and the kit has body pieces similar to lightning William
