Speedometer
HI,
I have a 90 chevy k2500 diesel (32,000 miles). The speedometer is stuck at 45, all the other gauges work. Is cable driven or electronic? any suggestions of how i can fix this would help out alot (I have a feeling that im going to get a ticket soon) -Thanks alot Anthony.

The speedo is electronic, unplug the VSS on the output shaft housing on the tranny and see what it does.

this is my fav., when it comes to auto repair. i am a moderator there and there are several reputable mechanics and three dealer techs that make up the team of folks answering questions.
