Modifications

Hi,

I bought a 1.8t a4 ( 2000 ) a few months ago and i'd like to upgrade it.
After reading about it in the forum it seems that chipping/remapping are the most effective mod's.
1. What's the difference between them?
2. any recommendations for companies/sites?

Thanks.

Re: Modifications

AFAIK, they're pretty much two different words for the same thing. Sometimes, a tuner that will design a chip for your specific car (i.e. if you have a different turbo, injectors, etc.) will call it remapping more often than not. More generic ECU reprogramming is referred to as a "chip." Do a search on here and you should find tons of companies, in no particular order, here's a partial list: APR, Giac, Wetterauer, AMD, Oettinger, on and on and on.... Try google also to find some more.
