Re: buying a new car!

I find it sad that mazda and ford are tied with each other, but I think mazda is really starting to show more itself now.

Probes are sweet looking cars. Especially the second gen, which your looking at. The 1st gen are a little odd looking. And yes they are very quick but not hugely fast. I like them, but since it's a ford, I have my doubts on them.

Re: buying a new car!

if its 5 speed its alright, but if its auto... fuck that... I had a 90 Probe LX (3.0 V6) and the tranny died with 83k miles on it. Probes can be fast but theres not much aftermarket for them. Plus they weight 3000 pounds.

Re: buying a new car!

I have had two fords in my life time a 91 Crown Victoria and a 98 Ford Ranger, both of them had the crappiest transmissions on the planet, CV was auto, Ranger was manual.

Gave me nothing but problems, and never had either car working properly at one time.

But... good luck..

Re: buying a new car!

Ford trannys are alright, if theyre new. Our T-bird tranny slips goin to 3rd bc my sister kept driving even though it overheated and there was steam goin everywhere (waterpump died).
