Re: 04 durago airbags

We have the same problem with our durango, the airbag light with less than 7k miles and no codes, and we have the vehicle serviced twice but it has not helped. We're looking into the lemon law and taking steps to document the vehicle servicing. Already, we have had the CD changer replaced.

We too have a 2004 Dodge Durango (ours is the 4.7L) and our Airbag started coming on at approximately 13k miles. It always goes out on its own after between approx. 40 seconds to as many as 5 minutes. the system has recorded the event and various fault codes each time. We have had it into the dealership at least 5 times for this problem totaling 27 working days in the shop (back in the shop right now). They have replaced virtualy all the modules and a wiring harness. The end result of all the repair work has been 2 additional problems that needed repair: the keyless entry system became intermittent and the Stereo would turn itself off. These last two induced problems are the only thing my dealership has been able to repair. We now have the Dodge and Chrysler regional manager involved. Sadly he seems more interseted in troubleshooting aimed at preventing us from exercising our right to a buyback under the lemon law. As things stand now we will likely be obtaining a lawyer next week to help us draft our written notification to file suit under the lemon law. (Idaho requires written notification under its lemon law) If anyone is lucky enough to have their dealership solve the problem please let us know. Good luck
