Other Hondas

Okay, so I know that like the Civics and Integras aren't the fastest cars out there, but what about the other Hondas for example the Accord series? I know they have a V6 engine (at least I think they do) and I was talking to my friend's brother who has an '03 Accord and he says he has 240 HP stock so I was wondering if in general, Accords were fast or not!?!

Re: Other Hondas

Well in my opinion, the accords are quick...I wouldn't call them fast, the maxima is quicker. But even the older accords can be just as quick. The 200hp H22 engine from the Prelude is an easy swap in for older accords. But generally, they are 4 door sedans with economy and comfort in mind.
Honda did make the s2000 though, and that is fast.

if you want the specs go to www.cars.com then click on the research tab and choose the car. Yes, the 04 accord has 180 hp on the 4 cyl, and 240 hp on the V6. they are fast, very sporty compared to earlier models. Honda also makes the RSX-S, NSX, and S2000. those are respectable cars and very fast with mods. the thing about honda is that they have great advertising.....stupid kids. all those idiot highschoolers who dont know the difference between a caliper and an alternator think honda civics are the phat shiznit. Honda has been a very competative and active motor company in the past. recently they are just a spoiled brat of a company. look at the JGTC series cars, all the companies have updated thier vehicles and Honda is still using the same NSX they had 6 years ago, I guess they care more about selling numbers then they do about competative motorsports reputation. and without competition how can they expect respect from the enthusiest.

Re: Other Hondas

I test drove the 240hp Accord, and it was a dog. In fact it was slower than my old 95 camry station wagon which was 188hp, and most likely heavier.

Either it's geared to shit for gas mileage, there's a ton of drivetrain loss, the torque curve is like looking at a number 2 pencil, or they are really heavy cars. Or all of the above.

The only Honda I'd even consider sweating about is the S2000, but then again I'm an NA. And the only reason I would sweat is because a lot of people mod them. If you are a VR4, you can laugh in their face all day as stock for stock you are an entire second quicker than them in the quarter mile.

Re: Other Hondas

Either way, I dont like honda's. Just something about them that i dont like.. its odd. But yeah, I wouldnt call them the fastest.. but there okay. I think my girlfriend's car, (1996 chevy corsica) could beat most of them.. haha!

I believe Yogs has simply killed the all hopes of this Honduh' being factory fast by accurately calling it a "grocery getter" Personally, I would be most impressed with the amount of horsepower honda got out of the S2000 4 banger or one of my more personal fav's the honda/acura NSX....that is a well rounded machine.

Re: Other Hondas

I saw a white 95'ish looking NSX driving around today. I live in a pretty stocked up neighborhood concerning cars, considering half the kids at my high school drive a lexus, BMW, Mercedes, or 350z. Those NSX's are quite the lookers though. I still think my 3000GT along with 2 others are the prettiest in the school. Mos Definitely
