dont know where to start

I have a 97 gp gt, and i dont know what to do to it first. I want to tint the windows, get the street scene grill, a new medallion(do they make chrome medallions?), different spoiler etc. When it comes to anything in the engine I'm clueless, so if theres anything I can take out or put in it to make it faster I'd appreciate the help; also if anyone can list what they did in order and how much it cost them, or if u have any ideas on what I should do and how much it would cost it would help me a lot. Thanks

Start with these three first.
Sounds like your going to be putting a lot of money into your car. I'd sell it and pick up a GTP. Then you have something to work with. But that's just me. Good luck.

Do a search on SLP's website, they have some stuff for it too.

i dont really have the money to sell my gt and get a gtp, i got a good deal on mine, 6 grand for it with 80k miles on it and in very good condition, how much would it be to put something like a supercharger on it? i read in other posts that converting it to a gtp wouldnt really work

An aftermarket supercharger would cost over 2 G's, an aftermarket turbo costs a little over 3.

I've also got a GT. I know it's not as good of a platform as the GTP is to upgrade, but can't spend the extra 20 cents a gallon for premium

Re: dont know where to start

aftermarket supercharger is not even an option for your car. It would require so much additional modding to make it run safely ( pcm, compression ratio, pistons, stronger lower end to start ) weve been through this a thousand times through o nthis site, and weve come to the same conclution each time : want a supercharged GP? buy a gtp. If you do want to spend that kind of money you could think about a turbo kit for your car

http://www.3800performance.com/vehic...97_03_miva.htm

or you could sell your gt and buy a gtp. i got my '99 for 7g and it is in perfect condition, if you look hard enough you can find gtps for much cheaper that youd expect. And they are SO MUCH better for modding. To be honest im not sure that i would even really mod a gt very much if i had one, the gains from everything are so minimal that a lot of them arnt even worth the price im my opinion

good luck with whatever you choose

If you can make that van do that, a GT certainly can't be that crappy
