3rd is OD, OD is Nutrul, Nutrol is Reverse

I just bought a nice, clean, low mile CD/Cassette for my 1997 laSabre. When I put it in, since I'll have the front dash off, I want to realign the gear indacator. When I'm in 3rd, it says OD. When I'm in OD, it shows Nuitrul. It's off by one. On a car I used to have, it was a simple string hooked to the stearing colum. How is this one? Can I get to it with my front dash off when swaping out the stereo? How do I do it? Thank you, Chris.

My 95 still has the cable-type indicator. Don't know if they went to electrical indicators controled by the transmission selector switch in later years. It don't cost to look while you're in there.

I put my stereo in. while inside the dash, I saw it was the wire type. I moved the clip where it clips onto the stering colum. Everything is lined up like it's suppoised to. Thanks for the help, Chris.
