how much money/work would it take to put that in? And how many horses/torque does a cobra jet 429ci engine put out?

Re: biggest engine

Depends if its injected or carbed.
Some newer motors(injected) can put out 450Hp+.
i'd say u'd be looking at 350Hp+ for carbed

Re: biggest engine

If it's got a 289 now, the easiest swap would be a 351.

I agree with wolf.
A 351 W is an EASY swap because it is the same as a 289, except with a 1 inch higher deck.

A 429 would be a nightmare, because the '67 is a bit too small and tight under the hood. It could be done, though.
Remember the 68 mustang was redesigned to be bigger and wider, in part to allow room for the big 390 engine, and later, in 69/70 the boss 429.
