C3 Telescoping Steering Wheel Problem
I Have A 77 Corvette That I Am Trying To Restore. There Is A Lot Of Work To Be Done, I'm Starting With A Telescoping Steering Wheel That Is Not Locking In And I Was Wondering If Anyone Knows What Could Be The Problem.

since you are restoring the car, you should get a couple of books: first, the GM service manual, and second, the GM assembly manual. both can be easily found on-line or at ebay.
either one gives you detailed views and instructions on the steering column (among numerous other things) both are "bibles" any corvette owner should own.
