Acceleration/Speed Question

I'm looking for a good car between $15-20k, and was wondering - which one gets the fastest acceleration and most speed/power for the money?

You should specify new or used. If you go used, the number of options is virtually limitless.

Re: Acceleration/Speed Question

used- i would go with a camaro Z28/Trans-Am
New- i would go with Dodge SRT-4, etc.
*your better off getting a used car-you can find so many cars that have outragous preformance for that amount.*

Re: Acceleration/Speed Question

Camaro Z28/Trans-Am-0-60=5 >6/<5 seconds.
Srt-4->6/<5 seconds.
*your call*

Geo metro huh? Compared to...?

Used, I'd go with the 02 or 03 Subaru Impreza WRX. If you're lucky to find one that is. Possibly the fastest acceleration car on the entire planet. <-(For 1/8 mile times that is, not 1/4 mile)

New, I'd go with a....a....a....Heck, I don't know!

Try to find a mk4 supra! turbo of coruse...Litsen, if your talking used, there is plenty of cars that go to 60 in 5 seconds and under...if your talking new..there is not a lot of options...

Re: Acceleration/Speed Question

Trans Am/Z28 for sure. Not only do they accelerate quickly, they handle very well too. They're very fast, very reliable, and very cheap. The interiors are horrible though, and they aren't very comfortable. The WRX merits consideration as well; it's not quite as fast as the Trans Am/Z28, but it's loads more refined, and the AWD can be very useful and a lot of fun.
