Question automatic transmission fluid level

i have a 99 prelude with automatic/sportshift.

in the mornings when the tranny's cold, the tranny fluid level shows high on the dipstick.

when the tranny is hot the dipstick shows low??? am i reading this wrong? what's the right way of reading it?

thanks

I know with checking the oil your supposed to wait a little bit after the car has been running for the engine to cool off then check the level. I believe the same applies here. As long a the level is ok when cold your fine. I dont know the exact reason why but logically I can think that when your running the car the trans fluid or oil is running through, as the car sits its going to go back in the pan.
