94 Astro Rear 3 window/doors locked shut
I have a 94 chevy Astro w/ the window and 2 door rear end. My problem is the bottom door switch unlocks and the passenger side of the window unlocks, but the driver side does not unlock. I know I have to replace that switch or solenoid, but I cannot get it open to work on it. I have driven the hinge pins out of the window on top, but the driver side remains locked and I can't get in to release the lock. Anyone able to help me? Thanks

I have had the same problem with my van. To get it open, I had to get someone else to hit the unlock button on the driver side continously while had my key in the trying to unlock it at the same, then keep trying handle to the door, kind of all at the same time. If and when you get it open, on the right door there is a access plate, if you remove that and lubricate all the lock mechanisms, with all the linkages in there when they have no grease a loss of 1/16 inch movement can stop the door from unlocking.
Good luck |

I think you are talking about the dutch doors at the back of the van. You have to climb through the van to the back. At either side of the handle, at the bottom center of the window, there is a snap in piece of trim. Gently pry them off to expose a couple of bolts. When you remove the bolts you will be able to get to the problem, which is a toggle hinge with a couple of rods to the left and right side latches. One of the rods has fallen out of the toggle. pull the rod to the left to open the right side of the window. I don't know how to fix the problem correctly, but know if tie the rod in place with nylon string it will work.
