Wipers on my 1996 Corolla run so slow
Hi,
The wipers on my 1996 Corolla are running so slow now, even at the highest speed, it takes about 2 secs to wipe once cycle. anyone has the same problem? what can I do to fix ? thanks Update 9/28/2004: - I removed the wiper motor, it runs great without the wipers mechanism attached. Therefore the slow movement of the wipers must be caused by something else. - I removed the grill that covers the wiper mechanism, the grill runs across the bottom of the windshield, near the firewall. - it turns out that the accumulation of dirt and corrosion cause a partial jam of the wiper mechanism (consists of two pairs of pivot&arm connected to the motor) - now runs fine! Re: Wipers on my 1996 Corolla run so slow
I had the same problem with my 95. I pulled off the motor and moved the swing mechanism around quite a bit. It works fine now (same old motor) I think the mechanism just needed to be loosened up. If you can figure out how to get at the swing arm (attached to the morot) try lubeing it up.
