Unhappy 98 S10 windshield wiper trouble

My 98 S10 wipers don't work when it rains. I've heard earlier years had same trouble, and were recalled. Is there any help for 98's? Where do I get the info?

You need a new circuit board in the wiper motor.Yes there have been problems with these.

Thanks for the reply. I just wondered if anyone knew whether or not it would be covered under a recall as were the previous years. Seems to me they should have fixed the problem after it was identified long ago.

thought the recall would cover my kid's 97 but it didnt. got to checking on prices and the circuit board was only 30 bucks. it was a real easy fix.

Just curious,
but my '97 s-10 is having problems with the windshield wipers and I wasn't sure if this was related to it. Basically, the wipers choose when to work, or when not too. Sometimes, just in mist, it'll go on for about 4 cycles and then stop in the middle of the windshield. Is this due to the circuit board? Any information on this problem or how to fix it would be much appreciated. I don't want to end up spending a couple hundred taking it to a mechanic to fix it. If its broke, how hard would the install be. Thanks alot!

Re: 98 S10 windshield wiper trouble

Where was this board 2 years ago? LOL I just replaced the whole wiper motor when mine started acting up. They quit at the worst times!
