Answer to noise in front end while turning right
Had a metalic whirling noise on 99 grand prix only when turning to the right. If you killed the engine and let the car coast the noise stopped. Turned out to be a bad starter. The starter drive was hitting the flywheel on turns to the right.

Are you sure it's not a motor mount allowing the engine to move causing the starter to rub the rack or somethnig?? The starter is attached to the motor, so it would rub regardless. The direction of travel would have no effect on whether or not the starter drive hit the flywheel!!! Are you sure this guy knows what he's talking about?
