quick silencer question

I Just took off my air filter in my 89 gt and I was looking for the air silencer and I couldn't find it? where is it located? I guess the last owner took it out?!

take out the air filter box and its the oddly shaped tube going into your fender towards the headlights, or its possible the previous owner took it out...

all that I see is the black trim that goes down to the finder so I guess he did take it out ...thanks for you help
