Dude, Gateway, ma man this is a golden opportunity. where I work the inventory team are like 12 guys between the ages of 18-21. Half of them are recent imigrants to the country who saw Fast and the Furious in southamerica and think the Civic is the ultimate groundrocket. Its not thier fault thought, In Colombia, Venezuela, Peru and Argentina the street racers are the Ford Fiesta, the Susuki Swift, and the Chevy Active. all between 1.3 and 1.5 liters. so to them a Civic is a helluva fast car. So one of the kids buoght a 04 civic ex, he taunted me for a month and finaly I gave in and wooped his ass royaly. I bet $50 i'd take him in the 1/4 and took it easy on him but beat him, then he wanted a double or nothing and I took him again, this time put 2 cars on him, then he said a quick 0-60 ( I was letting him stay ahead of me on the launch) he bet his whole paycheck, and I smoked him again. of course I gave him, back all his money at the end but that taught them that stock Civics are fat cows! anyway the moral is I had to give him back the cash cause I have a very delicate possition in the company and am way above him to be doing that but you could make some extra gas money playing this punk.

Well Slade, I dont have the launch down to a perfection but with that guy I launched at like 1500 just to get it moving then a milisecond later stepped on it, but in a serious race I usually launch between 2000 and 2500 so that I dont loose traction. like I said I havent perfected it but so far its worked out fine.

dont even remember if i said this story on these forums or not, if i did, well i'm telling it again:

we were having a 3/S gathering in my town, and there were four of us going to the dragstrip, i was in front, then a friends' base automatic, then two vr-4's behind him. To make a long story short, dude in a Civic SI v-tec comes up to first vr-4, revs engine, get his ass kicked, goes up to 2nd vr-4, revs engine gets his ass kicked again, and stops against me at a traffic light. He gets on it, i half floor it, i pass him, base passes him, 1st vr-4 passes him, 2nd vr-4 passes him. Bad enought he got beat by two vr-4s in a row, but got beat by SLAUGHTERED by 4 3/S's at the same time lined up behind each other.

I hear it everyday. Some guy in my school has 69 nova SS with a blown 350 in it, and I for a fact know it is quick. But of course, some punk kid whose parents just bought him a 2000 Si said he would smoke it. The guy in the Nova pulls out casually and the Civic just blows by him. The Nova keeps on at a calm 25 and goes home. Next day the Civic kid was braggin, and the Nova guy heard that he was talkin trash. He calls him out, and the Civic kid was like...whatever dude I already spanked you, I'm not gonna waste gas. So the guy in the Nova says to take his hotwheel and shove it up his ass. Civic kid says lets go, so the guy in the Nova and the kid line up, with about a 1/8 mile near the school. Let me tell you, that Nova pissed all over that car it wasn't even funny. About 200 kids saw it, and that kid has a bad rap.

You should seriously find a VTEC that wants to go and show this guy what your car is made of.

Haha...I don't know what it is with people and their v-techs. Don't get me wrong, civics have potential with a lot of money put into them. I have a friend here that runs 11s at the track with his civic, but he's also got a lot done to the car. Just becareful who you are dealing with because one time the guy will have a good enough civic and it's not gonna be funny. Good luck.

I went to highschool with a guy who had a civic running 9's, then I heard he sold it. I asked him why, and he said he was going to buy a new civic and get it down to 10's. He stripped his old civic down to the base motor and sold it for 5300 (lol, had some seriously hard miles on it too), and built the civic that is now doing 9's -_-. Majority of the civics in my town think they are badass with their rims, coffee can exhaust, and euro lights. There's just 1 you have to fear though sadly.

Yah, how about tonight. I got a call from my friend about some guy running his mouth and saying he can beat me with his maxima. I'm like....ok what's he got done to it? He had exhaust, intake, and nos. Now I'm thinking...a maxima with nos. So I went for the race and they're like oh yah, let's do it from a roll at 30 mph. I'm like that's fine. I honestly wasn't sure if i could win it or not. However, I beat him by about 2 car lengths from a roll. We raced again from a stop and I rolled him hard, i mean hard. It had to have been like 5 or 6 cars when I quit and doing about 115 mph. Was fun though.
