96 vs 93 compatability
hi guys,
i got a 93 crown p71, my buddy wrecked his 96 p71 monday night. he crushed the front in pretty good and its probally totaled. my question is, is his 96 parts the same as my 93? i know the brake lights and interior a bit different, but i was thinkin like the odd ball stuff that goes out like wiper motor, calipers, rotors and stuff of that nature that goes out. i got a huge garage to store stuff, he asked me if i wanted to strip it before he got rid of it just for spare parts. someone baught the engine but everythig else is there. is this to much of a year difference? we'll copare parts to make sure they look the same before pullin them but computer wise will these work? thanks |

Re: 96 vs 93 compatability
Most parts are interchangeable, if not the same. For example, while the interior trim is different, it interchanges (you can take the '93 stuff out and put in the '96). About the only thing that will not work is the trunk lid and taillights. You could even swap nose clips if you ever needed to.
For say $500, I'd unbolt everything I could like: T/S switch, calipers, M/C, trans, cruise, steering wheel, cats, seats, ECM (you can't use it, but you can sell it easily), steering box, blower motor etc. |

If you are looking to repair the 96, I have a 96 body only for $750.00. Dark Blue NYSP car. Has a new rear, no engine,no trans, most electrical parts are removed as is the ABS module, body is in excellent shape in the front, and side, new windshield. Has the common rip in the rear bumper from snow accumulation. OR are you interested in selling the other one? PM me thanks.
