Hi all:
I ripped out all 4 spark plug wires from my 17 yo daughter's Camry and now I need to re-install. Can anyone tell me which plug goes to which point on the distributor? Looking at the engine from the fron, there are the four (4) plugs left-to-right and the distributor to the right of them. Which plug wire goes to which distributor point? Also, which distributor point is No. 1? Yikes! Anyone help? Mike |

Re: 94 Camry LE 4 cylinder firing order
Mike,
When standing in front of the car looking at the engine, from the passenger side of the car the plugs wires go 1 - 2 - 3 - 4 on to the plugs. The number 1 wire is closest to the passenger fender. The OEM wires are actually numbered with 1, 2, 3, and 4 right on them. Attaching the wires to the distributor cap, standing on the drivers side of the engine comparment and looking at the distributor as a clock; #2 wire is at 10:00; number 4 wire is at 2:00; number 3 wire is at 5:00; and number 1 wire is at 7:00. I hope that all makes sense. The next time you want to make the car undrivable, just unscrew the distributor cap and remove the rotor; then screw the cap back on. It's easier and there's nothing to reversing the procedure. Mike |

Thanks!!!!! LOL on the comment too - I was NOT thinking straight until RIGHT AFTER I pulled all the wires off both ends - then I said to myself, "oh F**K!" Well, at least I just said it to myself! Thanks again!

Re: 94 Camry LE 4 cylinder firing order
Instead of the rotor, I would suggest pulling the starter relay. With the wires or rotor pulled, you will get engine rotation and alot of gas sprayed into the engine while she tried to start it. She can also damage your starter and your battery trying to start it.

Mike,
I think Brian does have a better idea with the starter relay. Mike |

Re: 94 Camry LE 4 cylinder firing order
That was funny. I didn't understand the reason behind the spark plug wire problem. I thought this guy was rather strange to remove all the wires and then install new ones instead of doing it one at a time.

If you're a pictures kind o guy, here you go: http://www.autozone.com/servlet/UiBr...3d8015757d.jsp
Had a rule with my 16 year old daughter. Bedroom door stays open at least 2 feet when the boyfriend visits. Found it open two inches. I didn't say a word. Just got a hammer, knocked the hinge pins out and removed the door. She got the message.
