Charger vs. Superbee
Okay, so I've got a 70 charger R/T with a 440 in my garage and when I told my friend he started talking about how the superbee was a better car, and I think he's full of it. What it comes down to I think is the engine size, and the driver... I need everyones thoughts on this one... thanks!

Re: Charger vs. Superbee
i agree. if you had a super bee and a 383 charger equaly equipped with the same four barrel, intake, ect. it would come down to the driver. if you didnt know almost all super bees come with 383's except the 69 1/2 which had a 440 6 pack. either way it all depends on drive train and the driver.

Re: Charger vs. Superbee
You could get sixpacks since 1969.5 all the way up to 1971. The cars are built on the same frame, weigh just about the same, and are basically the same car except for some bodylines.
I think the bees look meaner, I like them more.

i didnt think that the superbee continued with the 6 pack option after 69.

Re: Charger vs. Superbee
I'd have to say the charger unless the super bee had the 440 6 pack

Info on the Coronet Super Bee is available at http://www.allpar.com/model/roadrunner.html
The Super Bee was basically a Dodge Coronet version of the Belvedere-based Plymouth Road Runner. Both are cool, but the only way it'd perform better is if it has a 440 Six-Pack and yours has a 440 Magnum. If they both have Magnums or if they both have Six-Packs, it'd be about the same, unless the Charger weighs less or has less frontal area. |

Re: Charger vs. Superbee
Nah, no 6 pack, but we're prolly gonna try and put a HEMI in it ne ways, like one of the new ones straight outa mopar's catalog that's got like 400 or 500 HP I Think?

Re: Charger vs. Superbee
I think Mopar now has Hemi heads available that will fit 440 blocks, but I'm not sure...

The Charger is heavier than the Superbee, but they are basically the same thing. Who cares? They're both Mopar. What's important is that they beat any Ford or Chevy.
By the way, they did offer 440-six pack option after '69. They just didn't offer the lift-off hood. |

Re: Charger vs. Superbee
I personally think that a superbee is better, I don't have any proof of this, but I think Mopar made the GTX and the Superbee High Profile cars, but I also agree that you can make anything better, all you need is a little elbow grease. But you what I don't understand. If a GTX and a Superbee are Mopars high profile cars, why did they model them after a Satellite and a Coronet. Those where the low profile cars. And also A 70 superbee don't look too great, I think they should of stuck with 69 look.

Re: Charger vs. Superbee
And yeah they did offer the 6 pack option in 69, in fact most 69 superbees seem to have them.

Re: Charger vs. Superbee
Superbee would have an aerodynamic advantage over 100mph.
After all, it was made as a producation vehicle so Mopars could RULE Nastycar.
