offset question

95 240 with stock offset of 40 all the way around... if i go with 17x8 front and 17x9 rear what offset will fit good on my car? 30 offset rear 25 front? or how can i find out what will work for sure. thanks.

I actually kind of like higher offset..wider wheels... sure they don't have all that bling bling polished lip shit, but they are easier on your car part's lives and they actually handle better.

17x9 +30 all the way around would look better if you want it more flush (flusher???) wheel spacers are cheap

High offsets are the gayest thing ever. i dont really care about lip but having sunken in wheels makes 240s look like boats. I dont have much room to talk since mines got 18x7.5 Honda offsets. (soon to be replaced with 16x7 +0 enkei mesh) and since when has a wider track hurt handling?

eh i could be wrong but if you ever get coils a 17x9 with a 30 will have trouble clearing coils. i would go with 17x9 with a 25 all the way around.IMO if your looking for wheels i would go with the fn1orcs. i know a lot of 240s have them but theres a reason GREAT offsets and widths. i love the look of there 17x10s i plan on gettin a pair for the rear then a 17x9 with a 25 offset for the front .but my 17x8s will have to hold me over till then SR comes first

so what if i do 17x9 25 rear and 17x8 30 front, would that be flush with teh body while still be able to go inside the fenders in case, and will be alright with the coil overs?

look at my lowered car with stock offset

Higher offsets with wide wheels won't clear coilovers. Get a nice low offset (around 30 range) so they come out at least to your fender.

17X9 25 offset REAR 17X8 30 offset FRONT, WITH COIL OVERS... anyone have this set up or seen anyone with this set up ? will it work and look good with a 2 inch drop??

yeah that will work also depends on the coilover have you looked at SPL's website im planing on getting their coils for a 1100. you cant beat that supposedly there better then tein he's. ive seen some good reviews on them and they have the inverted shock design in the front.He's dont . keeps the oil from bubbling or frothing so they still stay stiff when your running them hard.

first off, moving the tire out fucks with a lot of things.... sure you get a wider track, oh what 1 inch or 2 inches? not really going to make that much of a difference compared to just buying better tires etc...

2nd off.... place the load further out on the car will tear up your wheel bearings, makes your car unsafe, unpredictable, and brakes not function properly when wheel bearings start to go out, plus they make noise.

3rd off.... higher offsets make the car handle better actually. The Ideal setup is to have the tire's outer edge start at the lugnuts and then go inside the wheel well and have the inner edge over the suspension and steering parts. This gives the car more responsiveness and stability. It gives you a better suspension geometry and it fools the chassis into thinking it has longer a-arms due to the weight distribution at the hubs.


example, take a look at a corvette z06, they run 295 sized tires, and the wheels have a really high offset

yea I wish I got SPLs. The annoyin thing about em though is to adjust dampenings on the front, you have to get under the car. I like how convienent it is to adjust my D2s, just pop the hood and twist the knob. But I guess it'd be worth it for the inverted shock design
