Re: no power to the radio

What is it that "lights up", the radio display or the back-lighting? What do you mean by "it will not come on"? If the radio display lights up but you are getting no sound from the radio you could have a blown QBA (Quad Bridge Amplifier) in the radio or the external Amp is not connected or not working properly. Do you have a BOSE system?

no, i dont have a bose system. i get no power to the radio. no sound at all. what else could have blown that would not make the radio power on. it was working, and my aftermarket was as well, no neither will work. i do not get the theft lock message either. thanks.

Re: no power to the radio

You may have an open Ignition circuit. The backlights are on a separate circuit from the main power and from the ignition circuit. Are you able to dim the backlight on the radio? You have two power sources going to the back of the radio. The first power source is +12VDC and this one is always on. It is the main power source for the radio. The second power source is you ignition circuit and it is used to turn the radio on/off using the ignition key. On the wiring harness the +12VDC and Ign. are next to eachother. Use a voltmeter or a test light to find out if you are getting the +12VDC and if the Ign. circuit operates. Also verify your ground. If the main +12VDC and the Ign. circuit operate the way they should you have a dead radio and probably not worth repairing as you can get replacements fairly inexpensive.
