4.3L exhaust setup

i have an ext cab 04 silverado with the 4.3L V6, i want to upgrade my stock exhaust with a flowmaster system. im set on the 40 series mufflers because ive heard so many great things about them, but i had a couple questions on my mind... i was thinking about a single in dual out exhaust and was wondering will this be loud on the V6? ive heard yes but then i realized that my engine is the same size as the one on the chevy s10's. an s10 with flowmasters doesn't sound too throaty, more like a ricerocket. will my car sound the same as the s10 if we both had the same exhaust. also would it be too much trouble to get true duals and add a second muffler? how much cost difference is that? and how much sound and performance difference will i gain? thanks for any input. -alex

i've heard 40 series on the 4.3L V6's and they dont sound good

I had a 50 series suv performance (not delta flow) on my 4.3L and it sounded good. food for thought

Re: Re: 4.3L exhaust setup

arrite thanks for the suggestion. im gonna go with the 2.5" single inlet 40 series dual 2.5" outlet bent behind the rear tires with 3.5" chrome tips. i live in los angeles CA, what do you think an average garage would charge me for this setup... including installation?

Re: 4.3L exhaust setup

I got the exact same setup you just described, except mine comes straight out the rear for $250 including tax, labor, and warranty for life.

$250 really? where do you live, or where did you get this done?

Re: 4.3L exhaust setup

I live in south georgia, and i got it done at Rainey Tire and Mufller in Bronwood, Ga. It's just a local exhaust shop, so you might wanna call around and see what you can find.

Re: Re: 4.3L exhaust setup

would installing this exhaust system void my new-car warranty?
