58 impala help.....
I just bought the american grafitti 58 impala popped off all the chrome strips and filled it in with body filler the filler is sanded even with the metal but i can still see the texture diffrence is there any way to get it to when i primer it it looks like nothing was ever there

I had the same happen to my Merc. Once you sand and prime again, it will look the same. I did noticed when I sprayed my first coat of color, I could still see the places where I used Bondo. After the second coat I couldn’t see them anymore. I'm thinking the primer is not sealing.
What primer did you use? I used WalMart primer, I don’t think it’s too good. I will try Duplicolor Primer-Sealer on the next, it should help keep the Bondo from sucking up the paint. Could also be we should be using some other filler besides Bondo. This is my first experience using Bondo on such a small scale. There are finer fillers for plastic models. Meaning the filler is less porous. Have to experiment I guess, Unless someone else knows for sure what fillers and primers should be used. . |

I used the wal mart primer also.....maybe ill try finer sand paper

You aren't using really rough sandpaper are you? Body filler is probably softer than solid metal so it's likely that it the sand paper will damage it more.

you gotta get the high build formula primer by duplicolor and then get the primer sealer by duplicolor and im pretty sure it will be fine
