Getting Gas?
As I mentioned in the post titled "Service Enging Soon / Trac Off", my 2000 alero would not start on me just last week.
The problem turned out to be bad fuel pump. No gas was getting to the engine. You could have left the key turned to start all day long till you were blue in the face and the battery/starter would have worked fine, but you're not going to go anywhere if you don't get gas. - Matt |

Re: Getting Gas?
Thanks for the reply, Matt.
Darnedest thing just happened. I got to thinking it might be a bad fuse or relay so I went into the fusebox. Switched the A/C Comp relay with the Fuel Pump relay (obviously both same number) and the darned thing starts! Plus, the A/C still works. So, go figure. I have no idea why this worked. Will see how situation progresses. Thanks again. |

turn the key in the ignition to on and leaving it for 10 minutes gets around this problem. It resets the security system. Why that works is up to the programmers of the computer in the car. (I applaud their attempt for security implementation, but not for their programming final decisions.) Turning the key to On for 10 minutes and then turn it off and then start as usual....worked for me.
