Just read a post on a 305 to 350 swap. I am thinking of upgrading to a 350 in my 87 Ellie. If I keep the electronic controlled Quad carb do I have to change the controller?I would like to keep it pretty close to emission legal as Pa is getting some wierd ideas, but I would also like to add a little more pop. I aready have a perfomer intake and a cam and headers would also be added if it could pass emissions. Any sugestions would be appreciated.

Re: engine swap ?
Hi , you can make the swap to a 350 and still use all the stuff from your 305 except ex. manifolds, you need 350 manifolds .you should be able to pass smog if you use a RV cam, headers ? Slim

Re: engine swap ?
The heads are exactly the same between the 2 motors. Do yourself a favor and dump the feedback carb for any earlier 78-84 spreadbore. get a HEI dist with vacume advance on it and recurve the timing on it. I bet you will have a better emmisions motor than original. Also, what about your exhaust? Is is a single or dual yet? go for duals with a balance tube in it and use Flowmaster muffs. Those things in them selves will make your car come alive with out spending the whole bank account
