lumina fuel pump relay

newbie needs help, i have a 90 lumina with many problems. the one i'm concerned with now is the fuel pump relay wont shut off unless i pull the fuse. it ran all night and killed my battery.i have already replaced the relay and no change.does any one have any ideas?

You replaced it and it didnt help? Hmm, do you have a haynes/chiltons manual for the car? Look up the wiring diagram for the feul pump. You wil probably find it in the engine controls diagram. Which side of the relay is switched? If the ground is switched, you have a short which is causing the relay to stay on constantly. If you pull the relay does the feul pump cut off?

if you replaced the relay, and it still runs all the time, I would bet you have a fried pigtail for the relay, and it's being supplied w/power all the time, instead of just with the ignition on.
