Thunking noise when turning
Hello Everyone,
This is my first post. I have a 2001 4Runner, SR5, 2WD. Lately, when I slow down and then make a right turn, I hear this thunking noise. It seems to be coming from underneath the truck around the center. It doesn't happen every single time but it does happen often. I left it at the dealership all day and they could not diagnose the problem. It is driving me crazy. Any suggestions? |

Re: Thunking noise when turning
Is it a noise that occurs only once when you turn, or repeatedly many times during the turn?

It happens several times during the turn. It feels kind of like something is popping and then shifting.

Re: Thunking noise when turning
My first thought is to check your lugnuts for correct torque and power steering for fluid level.
I will have to think about this some more. |

Re: Thunking noise when turning
Thanks. Please let me know if you think of something else. I am looking for another place to bring it besides the dealer to see if they can figure it out.
