Ram air or K&N filter

Hey i was just wondering, what would increase my power more, a ram air hood with the airbox(ramair), or a k&n high flow filter. When i went to k&n's site and tried to find filters for my car all it would come up with is the K&N Aircharger? What would you think is best? Thanks

Eric

Well my two cents is this.... I bought the air charger for the V-6. It deffinately gave it a boost in acceleration and horsepower. Also it gave me about 4 more mpg. The best part is that it gives you engine a better sound. It makes it sound like your car has a V-8 in it. Very appealing at least to me. Personally I think as far as money is concerned you would be better off buying the air charger.

Re: Ram air or K&N filter

personally id go for ram air for the fact it looks better and cowl hoods also leave more room for massive air cleaners and supercahrgers

How much does that cost? I went to K&N's site and couldn't find too much. Thanks in advance.

I don't know what an Air Charger is and it didn't show up on K&N's site when I searched for a 1996 3.8l v6. Can you tell me about it?

Thanks,
Dan

Oh yeah....it just replaces the from the OEM airbox to the throttle body with a new ram air system and tubing. It icrease horsepower by at least 25. And the filter is obvious

air charger

Yeah iv'e read up on the aircharger. It seems to be pretty good. But i would think you should be able to get a ws6 or raptor ram air hood. I guess that depends on how much the aircharger changes the layout under the hood. But all in all you're still getting the ram air without the hood because of the aircharger.
