How does the Y8 get 1mpg and 2horses better than the Z6?

I've read that the Y8 on 96-00 civic's get 1mpg and 2horses more than the Z6 of 92-95. How can this be?

the 1mpg could be because its obd2 and therefore has more data to calculate a/f

hp-higher comp? better airflow(although i think the z6 flows better)?

Z6 = better flowing head
Y8 = better cam

So what you guys are saying if that I took a y8 cam and stuck it on a z6 head, I would have a super sohc 1.6l?

y8 burns fuel more effecently than the z6 bc of tis combustion chamber. i belive it also has a higher compresion ratio.

same compression ratio, but a better designed head for better emissions.. swirl port design and smaller combustion chambef for more efficient combustion. supposedly the intake and exhaust manifolds are slightly better designed. the cams are the same besides for the timing.. y8 cam in a z6 head throws cam timing off a few degrees.
