Any ideas? I have a 1989 Pontiac Grand Prix 3.1L. The car starts and idles fine but as soon as it is put into gear it dies, but starts right back up. I've replaced the TPS, check vacum lines, checked compression. Anyone have any ideas?

Re: 1989 Grand Prix starts but won't move
check fuel pressure. it should be min 31psi with the ignition on, engine off. If not, pinch the return line(it's the one coming out of the plenum toward the back of the car). If the pressure shoots up, replace the fuel pressure regulator. if it doesn't, you need a fuel pump.
