I think this is the problem but I'm not too sure. I get a squeaking noise that sounds like it’s from the driveshaft. The squeak pitch increases as I accelerate. I went underneath anD moved the driveshaft back and forth and it squeaked a bit. Anyone else experience this problem? I did not see any grease fittings to grease which my fix the problem.
Any ideas would be helpful. I will try in 4Hi and 4Lo tonight to see if anything changes. Cheers! |

Re: squeaky driveshaft???
Any vibration, funny (airplane type) noise, or clunking sounds when reversing gears?

U-joints OR you just need to get your U-joints greased.

Re: squeaky driveshaft???
newer u joints do not have grease zerts, so you can't really grease them without taking them out and removing the caps. And if you do that, you might as well put new ones in.

Yep. What he said! Be sure you put the new ones in with the zert facing the right way. I put mine in wrong the first time and couldnt get to the zert. |

Re: squeaky driveshaft???
Thanks for all the input. I will check the U joints. Too bad the stocks have no grease fittings.
Cheers! |

Re: squeaky driveshaft???
To get the stock ones off you have to heat the yoke ends. There is a plastic ring that holds the U-joint caps in place. It will seperate easier if it melted a bit. I didn't have a torch and since my driveshaft was on the ground I let it set in the sun for about an hour and it softened up enough.
