Front Wheel Drive Accuator

My 4 wheel drive accuator is bad, where is it located? My Haynes manual doesn't show it?

well you could have 2.....

all models have on on the front axle that slides a collet to join the axle halfs together.

but if you have 'push button' 4x4 shifting, you also have one on the xfer case that engages the 4wd planetary

Actuator

Thanks, I don't have a push button, and I figured it was on the front axel, just wanted to make sure before going on a wild goose chase.

Re: Front Wheel Drive Accuator

The actuator GMs part number 26013495 is located in the front differential. There is also an updated electric one available from gm but the harness has to be changed to use it.

Re: Front Wheel Drive Accuator

I replaced my OEM CAD with one of those Posi-Lok kits. Seems to work OK.

Re: Front Wheel Drive Accuator

I have a 2005 and was having similar issues. In key position one all lights light. At first I could turn on and off several times and push the 4H and eventually it would engage. Now nothing except all the lights still light up upon starting. How can I tell what my issue is.?
