99 Blazer A/C Hose repair/replacement
Okay I finally fixed the heat by back flushing the heater core (using a $3.95 kit better than $500 the dealer wanted to open the dash)and replacing the DEX-Cool crap with the green coolant. Duiring this process I managed to put a hole in one of the AC hoses. Now the A/C isn't producing cold air. I realize I must have the hose replaced and I am guessing the A/C compressor needs a recharge...How much do you think a garage would charge for this? Is it possible for me to do it myself without much hastle?

Re: 99 Blazer A/C Hose repair/replacement
You have vented the freon. Unless you have a vacuum pump and the ability to meter the proper amount of freon into the system and guages to check pressures, I would say no.

Thanks for the replies. Gonna end up taking it to get serviced. Hope it doesn't cost too much
