Emissions

Hi everyone,
I'm new to the forum and just bought my first GP last month. With all the mods that can be done to these cars I'm pretty eager to get started. But first, I was wondering what kind of emissions issues I might encounter if I change around the stock parts.
Does changing the CAI, pulley, or deleting the U-bend jeopardize my chances of passing a NJ Inspection?
Many products on pfyc are for "off-road use only",

thanks 98
Any products you recommend? A lot of people talk about MSP and Thrasher. I like them both b/c they come with a tray to keep the PCM protected, but is one better than the other?

A good way to go is with the Performance Packages
from www.3800performance.com they have a Stage 1 kit for 299.00 and that includes

your choice of either a 3.4" or 3.25" pulley
your choice of either a Press-On Pulley or the upgraded Thrasher Modular Pulley System
Thrasher Cold Air Induction Kit with the option to upgrade to the MSP Cold Air Induction System
Goodyear Gatorback Supercharger Belt
Optional Coolant Recovery Bottle for 1997-1998 owners
Optional Intake F-duct for 1997-1998 owners upgrading to the MSP CAI System
Optional Thrasher Supercharger Pulley Puller Tool for Rental or Purchase

Re: Emissions

wow
that's a lot for only $299, thanks for the info...
some sites recommend different upper engine mounts and an auxiliary transmission cooler when upgrading to a smaller pulley. Are those mods really necessary, or are they just trying to milk the unwary?

I wouldnt worry about either one of those...poly engine mounts mean more vibration and the only time id go with a tranny cooler is if you went with a high stall converter.

Re: Emissions

Thanks again
I hope I don't become a pest, but do you agree with 98whitegpgt that a CAI and smaller pulley don't affect emissions?
