Do you think these headers are worth it?

Hey guys I was wondering if you thought these headers were worth buying? http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...category=33632 I just want to know what you guys think. Im looking for 4-1 headers of my 02 civic.
Thanks.

I say no for two reasons:

1) I think 4-2-1 headers provide more balanced performance than 4-1
2) you're asking for a headache if you go with the chrome. It looks nice on ebay, and it will look sweet when you open the box (mine did), but after literally FIVE MINUTES of running your engine, the pipes will turn a really shitty-looking blue.

I would go for a ceramic coated 4-2-1 header for good looks and performance.

Re: Do you think these headers are worth it?

That seems like a better bet, but I wouldn't buy from this specific guy. His feedback is private, which tells me he has something to hide.
I don't know all the info on your car, so I can't do a really specific search, but here are some suggestions:

4-1 ceramic
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...category=33631

4-2-1 ceramic
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...category=33631

I know these are considerably more expensive than the ones you've been looking at, but if you install your own then you make up for the difference in cost. And it's better to spend $250 for one that will make you happy than $100 on one that will disappoint you.

Along with the valve cover, the header is one of the first things people see when you open your hood, so it's worth a little extra to make sure it's quality. If you DO want to go the cheap route, just be sure to check the feedback and even email some of the seller's previous customers to see what they REALLY think of the product.

Good luck.

What I will do is email the seller and ask him is there a warrenty on this product, ect. I tried looking up how to leave email to his buyers, but I coulndt find that out so i cant email the buyers about what they think of his prodcuts.
Thanks,
Gabriel.

dont buy the cheap headers, they dont give you the gaskets you need and the performance is not that great!! trust me on this one

Re: Do you think these headers are worth it?

I understand about the college thing - I'm there, too. I bought a medium-cheap header (around $150) from SSAutoChrome on ebay. My only complaints are looks (it turned blue) and instructions (there were none). Performance-wise and quality-wise, everything is fine.

If you get cheap chrome headers, my suggestion is to lightly sand and paint them with VHT paint with ceramic. They make a metallic aluminum color, and a can is only 5 or 10 bucks. I did it with mine when it blued, but it would be a whole lot easier just to do the whole thing before you install it.
My header came with all the gaskets I needed, and one I didn't need. See my post here: http://www.automotiveforums.com/vbul...d.php?t=290736

Good luck with everything, and let us know if you need help on the install.

Re: Do you think these headers are worth it?

those were the same headers i bought and i have the same complaint kafziel has. there was a 1/2 inch gap that i had to have filled by meinike which wasnt to expensive but it was a hassle to get the time to do it and go witout my car. id say save for a bit longer and get a better header

Re: Do you think these headers are worth it?

you might as well save a lil more and get the good ones because if u buy the cheap headers there gonna charge you more for Shipping, and in the end your not gonna save as much money as u though u would, and in a few months/years when u really want your car to be a REAL performance car your gonna have to replace the cheap headers you bought with some quality headers...my advice is to spend more now to save more later cuz your gonna kick yourself in tha ass when u end up payin $75 for the actual header and $100 for shipping when u could have paid $200 for a Good Quality header and $25 for shipping cuz when u think of it, 50 bucks isnt that much to spend on quality

Well guys thanks for the help I am still undecided whether to go the cheap route or not. If I get the cheap headers, I will need to paint them cerrmaic, if they are chrome no biggy. Well Im probley going to buy the headers next semester. In the end the "Real" headers are for the EX model only for right now, and they like 295 on ebay which is the cheapest I have seen them. Since there is no "real" headers for my DX model 02 by the way, im just going to have to go the cheap route. Thanks for the help guys, Ill let you know next semster when its time I decide to buy the headers.
