This has been discussed here multiple times.

Since the democrats won't win the house, senate or presidency, there is not going to be a draft.

Oh? Some folks didn't know that it was democrats that proposed this bill? Well what do you know. You learn something new every day.

Why should i move? this is america and i have the freedom to say whatever i want. Just because i don't support a war that in no way is making things better for us, doesn't mean i hate my country. So why don't you go join the army and go fight? that way i don't have to worry about a draft

I never denied your right to say anything, I simply said I would buy your ticket. Why are you so willing to fight for your right to spew something stupid out of your mouth, but ready to bug-out when a policy that forces you to fight for that right gets passed?
Wow, what a great American!!
BTW - I served 8 years in the Marine Corps, done my time...

Re: Here comes the draft.

If you don't 'volunteer', I believe you should get drafted, regardless of a war or not!! Every single American should learn some discipline and respect for at least 4 years. Then and only then will your sensitive little feelings about a war or any other international issue be taken into consideration...

Rangel introduces bill to reinstate draft

The New York Democrat told reporters his goal is two-fold......

And an FYI - there is going to be no draft! Its a scare tactic used by some democrats in the same way they claim republicans want to dismantle social security (I really wish they did, but they don't).

The respect of forcing our ideals on other cultures!
Actually this being a free country, any choice is right so long as it's the choice you want to make and not one that was forced upon you.
Anyway the draft won't happen, because it's not needed, and secondly because we're not communists who don't believe in such frivolous ideas such as "freedom of choice".

Re: Here comes the draft.

you don't think you have rights in the military?? well, I guess if you're that ignorant, you're not cut out for it anyway...you'd only end up getting others injured or killed.

yeah you got rights. the right to follow orders or face a court martial.

not every one wants to fight. when it comes to discipline if your parents do a good enough job then you won't need a drill sargent to beat you into place.

so i gotta ask you served your time?

yes and I have done nothing but benefit from my experiences, whether I wanted to go to war or not is irregardless...I followed my Commander in chiefs' orders w/o question, and I would do it all over again if possible, or asked of me.

bah bah little sheep. what works for you won't nessisarly work for every one. in fact many people would take offence to being forced into that situation. guns and bombs are not the way to fight. in fact it is down right cowardice. the fact that you can take many lives without effort is bullshit. there is no real skill in droping a bomb or even firing an automatic weapon and clearing out a crowd of people.

america bitches and preaches about other countries have nukes and biological weapons. yet they still sit on the largest stock in the world. plus to my knowlegde they are the only one to use them on another country. maybe they should set an example for the rest of the world.
