Re: crx questions
Well if you do get that rex with the b16a. First thing i'd do is to ditch that 1.6 block and find yourself a gsr/type r shortblock. THen you'll have that nice torque and hp! You can hit low 14s with that set up. Fix the body first though

see i dont really like body work but im execellent on the motor aspects imports i dont really know but i can learn quick so thats not a prob... but the 88 crx si is flawless body and paintjob and its rims are already nice 17's and tucked so i mean it looks very nice and runs well too.... i mean engine swapping is nothing to me but i just actually got a call back from the guy with the 90 crx and he said the starter is going bad and the clutch slips horribly on it so what should i do now

Re: crx questions
I would still take the b16 rex, who cares about the body damage, take the v6 killer.

Re: crx questions
I would'nt mind going for the b16 one but you gotta think has this b16 been dogged was it done right and other things..Just go with the one that was rebuilt and later on down the road do a swap so that you know it was done right and you know its not dogged out..later

the guy with the b16 said it has been raced and such before so im guessing yeah its been dogged... also just one more question i dont know alot about crx's but i just wanna know if overall they are a pretty good beginner car that can get some good speed out of them for a low budget

Oh yeh! The car is light and so its not really needed for huge hp/tq since the weight makes up the power. That set up i told you about on my other post. Well this what i had done to my rex before i sold it. I had a full b16a swap, then i got sick of it cause it was simply TORQUELESS! My boy was working on his civic and happens to build up a b18c5 short block with ctr pistons. Well he decided to do something else and so he sold me the shortblock for 1100. All i did was slap on the b16a head and tranny and got myself a "poor mans type r" motor. I also had jdm "used" dc sports header along with borla cat-back , and cold air intake. Got the action clutch for a really good deal, dropped on some neuspeed with tockico blues ( i got it for free). I hit high 13s(13.9) with just that set up! It was my third time goin to the track. I ran with my stock si motor which i hit my best at 16.1 i think. Its been awhile and i dont know where my slips are at since i moved. On my b16a i ran high 14s. So you can see it made a whole lot of difference! If you want to go all motor then you need a bigger displacement! If you want to see the 12s range B16a is really hard to get into the 12s all motor. ITs also very rare to see a b16a put'n out 200 whp all motor. With a 1.8ltr (gsr/typeR) its much easier to see the 200s at the wheel with correct tuning of course. Just giving you some ideas.

Re: crx questions
Tough call... here's some useful info though. the 89 Si did not come with rear disc brakes stock but the 90 Si does have rear disc brakes... just in case that matters. The B16 Si could have been dogged and if it needs work that's why it's so cheap. The 89 Si with the 17s and "custom" body kit is probably all show. You said you wanted a car that's fast. Well, even though an Si has the 1.6L with the MPFI stock it's not all that fast especially with big heavy rims, etc. etc. If you want an import that looks fast than go for the 89 Si and swap in something that will make it fast.
