roller rockers

Im looking to do alot of upgrading to my gtp in the future. Can anyone tell me if roller rockers are worth the money and how much is gained by installing them? Does the engine have to be removed? And what is a good set to purchase? Any input would be appreciated thanks.

Re: roller rockers

Well your GTP already has rollers, stock.
If you want to upgrade there are a lot of sets you can buy. Should get around 10 to 15 HP gain.
You'll gain more with a new pulley and cold air box.

There is also a set from Intense that are 1.9.You should atleast have the valve springs replaced also if you have alot of miles on the motor,as alot that dont do that have a problem with valve float.Just have to remove both vavle covers to get to the rocker arms.

I used the springs from the Z06 Corvette LS6.I had almost 68,000 on mine and DHP set my shift points to 6300 and I wanted to make sure there was not going to be any valve float I didnt want to spend all the money on getting a cam installed and it woke up the top end very nice since the stock rockers are 1.6.Oh and thats not my engine, but it looks the same with the valve covers off

Here are the instructions that I used to replace the rockers.

Our cars do NOT have rollers, stock. at least not the Rockers...lifters are roller though

Intense Claims a 25 HP increase to the wheels with their roller Rockers

I have them in mine and also added 105# Springs, Titanium Retainers, Oil Restricted Pushrods....

Re: roller rockers

Sorry Catz. I just woke up, and as we all know. I can't read. But the Doctor said next week I can use a spoon, maybe.
But the last thing I read on Intense was 10 to 15, to the wheels. I like wheel power.

Quote from Intense site

Quote:
The 1.90:1 INTENSE™ Full Roller Rocker Arms are a complete bolt-on kit that should increase top end power by at least 20 to 25 wheel horsepower on a supercharged vehicle and 10-15 wheel horsepower on a naturally aspirated vehicle - depending on what other modifications have been performed.

Re: roller rockers

No Larry, too many years smelling gas fumes.
Oh, over nighted badges. Should have them tomorrow afternoon. Looking around for hood. Still don't want rims. Don't like the way they look.

Re: roller rockers

GTP badges are very heavy, for what they are. GTX are plastic, SLP said they always were. Saved what, $2.00 per car?
