McLaren Logo? (Good Resolution)
Would it be possible for someone to provide me with the McLaren logo, in a decent resolution? (640 or better). I'm sure someone has one out there somewhere. I would prefer the one with a black background saying "McLaren" and a red swoosh. Also, Peloton used a logo saying "F1 LM." It was kind of cool looking, with a 3D border type. I was wondering if you have that same logo style with "GT" or "GTR" or even "McLaren?" Thanks for any help.

Most of what you are looking for can be found here:
http://web.brandsoftheworld.com/sear...1&text=mclaren If you don't find everything you need, let me know. Incidentally, if the "F1 LM" logo that I used in a wallpaper of the LM on the grass is the one you are referring to, I actually made that one from another image of the car that showed the logo badge on the back. The angle the source photo was taken at was a little odd and it required a bit of tweaking to get it how I wanted, but the one in that wallpaper is the largest version of it that I would have. If you are talking about the one in my signature, I stole that out of another wallpaper that I didn't make, but I can get you a slightly larger version of it. ![]() >8^) ER |

Thanks for your help! The only problem is, I can't figure out how to get the pictures on that web site to get bigger. They save as ".EPS," and I can't open them anywhere (unfortunately, I don't have Adobe Photoshop). I tried downloading them and converting them, but they were only 192 x 192 pixels or so. What should I do? Or maybe if you have them you can just post them here - they look pretty good to me. And sure, I'll take your avatar logo in higher res if you have it...

Ahh - not having Photoshop won't really help you then - sorry.
.EPS files are great because they are scalable - meaning that they contain all the extra information required to take what you saw as a 194x194 image and make it into a 1940x1940 sized image with no pixelation or artifacting. You can really make them any size you want, unlike most digital images. They are great for logos and designs. Another feature of the .EPS is that they generally use CMYK color - CMYK is the standard color code for professional printing - so no matter how the red looks on my monitor or yours, as long as your printer can accurately print in CMYK mode you will get exact results every time. It's pretty cool stuff really. Lacking photoshop on your end, the only thing I can do is extract the images for you myself and upload them here as .JPGs. I'll upload them at a "decent" size, but if you feel you need one of them bigger, let me know. Also, I'm only going to upload the ones specific to the F1, so if you need any of the others that they had extracted for you, you'll have to show me which ones by posting the thumbnail or listing the exact filename from that site. ![]() This first graphic seems to be slightly messed up/chopped off over the "r" and "n" - I tried it at various sizes, but the file always looked the same. If you're going to reuse them, simply add a black curve to the tops of those letters I guess. ![]() ![]() Note that the McLaren "Swoosh" logo (Don't tell Nike we're calling it that... ) is not related to McLaren Cars, only the McLaren Formula One team, in case you planned to use it in some way associated with McLaren Cars. There were two versions one older, and one newer I'm assuming. I really don't pay much attention to what the rest of McLaren is doing... ![]() ![]() Finally, here's a bonus graphic that someone on this forum - or maybe it was a different one - made in July 2003. The source file is actually a 74KB .PNG file that acts somewhat like an .EPS in the scaling department. The original file is 3200x1463 and I could email it to you if you'd like. Here's a smaller sample that might suit your needs:![]() Finally, here's the enlarged version of the F1 LM logo used in my sig photo: ![]() Hopefully this will all help you out. >8^) ER Last edited by Peloton25; 09-22-2004 at 04:00 AM. |

Thanks for all your help Peloton - those are exactly what I was looking for. I don't think I need them any bigger than that right now, so I guess I'm okay with those. By the way, are there any pictures of the GT or the GTR that I could obtain the signature from, like you did for the LM? That would be nice to have 3D versions of "GT" and "GTR" (actually, if you could find one of the GTR, it wouldn't be that hard to simply take off the "R" and make it "GT"). And, even though it's off topic, did you ever get that book with the nice Colin Curwood GT picture on the front? I remember you said you'd ordered it.

Cool - glad that helped you out.
I'm not sure what you are asking about with your other question. I made my signature from a scanned page of the CAR Magazine 0-100-0 test of the LM and then just pasted the logo into the corner. That logo had been stolen from a desktop wallpaper I have of the LM. Now, if you're asking if there is a similar logo to be found from a wallpaper of the GT or GTR, I will have to look as I can't recall at the moment. If you are asking something else, please clarify and I'll be glad to provide whatever I can. >8^) ER |

I was just wondering if there is a 3D logo saying "GTR" or "GT", kind of like the one in Peloton's signature. Also, if there are any good pictures of the logo on one of the actual cars (probably a GTR, since we barely have any of the GT), it could probably be extracted from there and cleaned up. Just wondering if it's possible, it's not a big deal.

Ahhh - I see...
The "GT" didn't have a combined logo like the LM did. You can see it in this photo by itself in the left corner of the grill (ignore the circles): ![]() I don't think I have a better shot of the GT showing it's logo, but hopefully whatever gtrseller is sending you will be good. Please post it here when you get it. I'm sure I have something better on the GTR, but I'll have to look around later. BTW: I did receive the book with the shot of the F1 GT on the cover - looks great. Recently, someone listed this F1 GT one-sheet on Ebay with the same photo on the front. I bid on it, but was outbid in the end. ![]() ![]() If someone wanted a digital version of that image, scanning from one of these would be a lot better than scanning the book cover. >8^) ER |

That GT picture is extremely nice, and I wish there was some way you could scan it! Oh well. And yes, it would be nice to scan it off those sheets, because it would be in full form, but nobody here has them, so...
When I get the GT picture from gtr-seller, you might have to show me how to get it on here. I remember I had trouble getting a picture on before. We'll just have to wait until he sends it.

Sorry, gtr-seller, but I never got them. It looks like you'll have to send them again. Remember, I only have a 2MB storage limit, so if they're over 2MB in space you might have to ZIP them with WIN ZIP or something. Try sending them again, I'm interested to see them!
Also, if you're the one who got that info sheet, PLEASE scan them and post them here, or send them to Peloton or someone to post them! I would love to get that nice picture of the GT!

![]() just kidding - Congrats - that looks to be a very nice piece of McLaren literature, and was one that I had never seen offered before.Quote:
![]() As for a description of how to post images yourself - you don't actually upload them to the forum. You need to upload them to an image hosting site of your own choosing and then once they are there, get the URL to the image and you can insert it using the "IMG" tag button " " found above the text window when creating a post.>8^) ER |

Todd - his email probably ended up in your "Junkmail" inbox - that's where I found the one he sent to me. Stupid Hotmail!
Anyway - here are some sweet F1 GT logos - thanks gtr-seller!! ![]() The .JPG format doesn't do so well compressing the color red at low data rates, so I actually cleaned this first one up in Photoshop to restore it's color, as well as to eliminate some fragment pixels creating a haze around the black portion of the logo. Tedious - yes, but worth it in comparison. ![]() ![]() ![]() >8^) ER Last edited by Peloton25; 09-24-2004 at 06:43 AM. |

I don't know if you guys knew this, but I was just looking through Driving Ambition and I noticed the official logos at the start of section for
the car, and they're 3D! They're pretty small, but when you scan them they get pretty big. Anybody here have a scanner? If so you can scan the LM and the GT logos on to here. |
